Building the Next Generation of Coaches
Speaking during the closing ceremony, FIFA/CAF Instructor Fred Serenge congratulated the participants for successfully completing the five-day programme and challenged them to put the knowledge gained into practice.

“Completing this introductory course is only the beginning of your coaching journey. The real test starts when you take these lessons to the training ground and use them to develop players. Continue learning, remain disciplined and always put the development of the player first.”
FKF Kakamega Chairman Jeff Mudembei said the successful completion of the third cohort demonstrates the branch’s commitment to investing in the technical development of football in Kakamega County.

“We are deliberate about developing football from the grassroots, and coaches are at the centre of that development. By training more coaches, we are creating a stronger foundation for the future of football in Kakamega. I congratulate all the participants and encourage them to use this opportunity responsibly.”
FKF Kakamega Secretary General Rajab Wangalwa emphasized the importance of continuous education and professional development among coaches.

“Football is constantly evolving, and coaches must evolve with it. This course has given you a foundation, but you must continue learning, attending further courses and sharing knowledge with others. We expect this cohort to make a positive difference in their respective teams and communities.”
FKF Kakamega CEO Simon Karanga noted that the programme is part of the branch’s wider efforts to strengthen football structures and improve the quality of coaching across the county.

“Our objective is to ensure that football development is supported by qualified and committed coaches at every level. The completion of this third cohort is another important milestone for FKF Kakamega, and we look forward to seeing these coaches contribute positively to the growth of the game.”
Also present was Instructor Nyabinge, Head Coach of Green Commandos and Assistant Coach of Shabana FC, who encouraged the newly trained coaches to remain committed to the profession and learn from their experiences on the pitch.
“Coaching is a continuous learning process. You will face challenges, but every training session and every match is an opportunity to learn. Be patient with your players, understand their individual abilities and always strive to become better coaches.”
