The race for Safaricom Chapa Dimba Season 5 county honours gathered momentum over the weekend as girls’ teams from all the 12 sub-counties across Kakamega County showcased exceptional talent, determination and competitive football.
Hundreds of young footballers took to the pitches in Shinyalu, Navakholo, Butere, Malava, Mumias West, Mumias East, Lurambi, Likuyani, Lugari, Matungu, Ikolomani and Khwisero, battling for qualification to the next stage of the competition.
The weekend produced plenty of goals, dominant performances and exciting contests, underlining the growing standards of girls’ football in Kakamega County.
Shinyalu
The Phoenix Mukumu emerged as the standout side in Pool A after recording emphatic victories over Busalwa Starlets (6-2) and Royal Queens (7-0), finishing with an incredible 13 goals in two matches.
In Pool B, STAGHS Girls displayed excellent organization, defeating Mundulu Rising Starlets 4-0 before edging Mundulu Junior School 1-0 to top their pool.
Top Performer: The Phoenix Mukumu – 2 wins, 13 goals scored.
Navakholo
Navakholo witnessed highly competitive matches across four pools.
Musaga Senior School FC topped Pool A after defeating Sivilie Ladies 1-0 and Siyombe Queens 2-0.
Esumeyia Secondary narrowly edged The Invincibles Girls in an entertaining 6-5 thriller to claim Pool B.
Bushili Queens dominated Pool C with convincing victories over Ingoste Princess FC (5-0) and Bushiri Starlets (3-0).
Pool D remained closely contested, with Nambacha Young Ladies upsetting Navakholo Ladies 1-0 in the final pool fixture.

Butere
Red Commandos produced one of the tournament’s most commanding performances, remaining unbeaten while collecting four victories.
The side defeated Marenyo Upcoming Starlets (5-0), Buchi Ladies FC (5-0), The Brown Queens (2-0) and Bulanda Rangers 2 (2-0), conceding no goal throughout the tournament.
Buchi Ladies FC also impressed with victories over Bulanda Rangers 2 and Marenyo Upcoming Starlets.
Top Performer: Red Commandos – unbeaten, four wins, 14 goals scored and no goal conceded.
Malava
Golden Queens proved unstoppable, winning all four matches while keeping clean sheets throughout the tournament.
Their victories came against Manda Lionesses (2-0), Tumaini Ladies Soccer (2-0), Kakoyi Starlets (2-0) and Hope Starlet (2-0).
Tumaini Ladies Soccer also enjoyed an excellent campaign, registering three victories.
Top Performer: Golden Queens – four wins from four with four clean sheets.
Mumias West
Mukhuwa Starlets dominated the competition with three straight victories against Mumias Vipers Ladies, Tausi Starlets and Lukoye Princess.
Lukoye Princess also enjoyed a strong outing, defeating Tausi Starlets and drawing with Mumias Vipers Ladies.
Top Performer: Mukhuwa Starlets – unbeaten with three wins.
Mumias East
The three-team mini league was decided by the narrowest of margins.
Indomitable Girls-Mwitoti defeated Promised Starlets before drawing against Avengers, while Promised Starlets had earlier beaten Avengers.
Top Performer: Indomitable Girls-Mwitoti, who finished unbeaten.
Lurambi
Bluesantos Queens stamped their authority in Pool A with victories over Shieywe Girls Soccer Team (3-0) and Yala Queens (4-0).
Pool B saw Ikonyero Secondary Titans win both of their matches to finish at the top ahead of Shikoti Starlets.

Likuyani
Likuyani provided some of the most competitive football of the weekend.
Lwanda Queens dominated Pool A, scoring ten goals while defeating St Anne Queens, Soccer Icon Queens and Mbururu Starlets.
Pool B was eventually won by Mirembe Queen, who defeated Kogo Starlets, Matunda Starlet, Matunda SA Blue Falcons and Likuyani Queens.

Lugari
Several impressive teams emerged across the four pools.
Lugari Progressive Academy comfortably won Pool B after victories over Lwanda Starlets and Chekalini Queens.
The Iron Ladies Soccer Academy continued their impressive form with two convincing wins, defeating Maturu Starlets and Lwandeti Queens 3-0 each.
Muhomo Queens were the standout side in Pool D, winning all three matches including a 4-1 victory over previously unbeaten Nambilima Queens.
The White Assasins Lunyito also opened Pool A with a convincing 4-0 victory over The Titans Lunyito.

Matungu
Mwira Queens were among the most dominant teams countywide.
They hammered Eshirumbwe Starlets 6-0 before defeating Namulungu Falcons by the same scoreline to finish with an outstanding 12 goals scored without conceding.
Top Performer: Mwira Queens – 12 goals in two matches.
Ikolomani
Lirhembe Girls recovered from an opening draw to record an impressive 3-0 victory over Shivagala Lioness and finish strongly.

Khwisero
Mulwanda Queens made a positive start to their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Khwisero Starlet.
