News just in from FKF Kakamega media is that today, 24th January 2024, FKF President Hussein Mohammed and his Vice President Macdonald Mariga are attending the solemn funeral of Mama Jane Ambale Opindi, a beloved community figure who passed on 11th January 2025. The funeral service is taking place at Ebuyonga Village, located in the Kisa sub-location of Kakamega County, where family, friends, and numerous well-wishers have gathered to pay their respects. Mama Jane was known for her unwavering support of local initiatives and her deep commitment to fostering peace and love within the community. Her legacy of kindness and leadership will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Mama Jane is the devoted mother to Frank Ogolla, who serves as the head of the National Leagues and Competitions Committee, a position that carries significant responsibilities and influence in the sporting community. As a key figure in overseeing the organization and management of various national leagues, Frank plays a crucial role in shaping the landscape of competitive sports, ensuring fair play, and promoting talented players across the country. Mama Jane, with her unwavering support and encouragement, has been instrumental in fostering Frank’s passion for sports and leadership, instilling in him the values of dedication and integrity that guide his work today.
The FKF President condoled with the family of Frank Ogolla and paid a heartfelt tribute to the family, recognizing the impact that Frank had on the local football community and his dedication to the sport. Other FKF leaders who attended the event included, among others, NEC member for the Western region, Mr. Caleb Amwayi, and NEC member for Nyanza, Collins Kale, both of whom shared their heartfelt condolences to Frank and the bereaved family.
