    Beyond the Obstacles

On the State of Kakamega FKF as the new office takes charge, several current issues have to be looked into. First, there is a progressive competitive imbalance. Second, there is an absence of a mandatory rest period for players. Third, the excessive number of travels and matches endanger player health and well-being. Lastly, the constant interruption of domestic leagues disrupts club competitions.

The frequency of men’s, women’s, and youth team competitions will also deserve attention. It is important to examine the feasibility of a men’s and women’s performance in their respective leagues.

Throughout the analysis and discussions, sporting elements will be the first and foremost priorities.

The long-term goal is to have more players from Kakamega county in the national teams. We also aim to have more Kakamega clubs competing at the highest level of both the men’s and women’s game. This aligns with our Vision (2024-2028).

Kakamega FKF is committed to using football’s power as a force for good. We leverage our partnerships with other agencies and partners to achieve this goal.

Indigenous peoples continue to be left behind. They suffer disproportionately from climate change, poverty, and poor access to education and healthcare. They are often excluded from planning and participation in their social, political and cultural lives.

Football is a unifying force that can advocate for the rights of indigenous communities everywhere and recognize their cultural contribution.
