As the nation commemorates Mashujaa Day 2025, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Kakamega Branch joins Kenyans in celebrating the gallant men and women whose sacrifice, courage, and dedication have shaped our country’s history and inspired generations.

In a joint message, the Branch leadership emphasized the importance of recognizing everyday heroes within our football community who continue to build the game from the grassroots level, inspiring young athletes and fostering a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among players of all ages. These unsung champions dedicate countless hours, often volunteering their time and resources to ensure that opportunities for participation and skill development are accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. By acknowledging their invaluable contributions, we not only celebrate their passion and commitment but also encourage others to join this vital mission, further enriching our vibrant football culture that thrives on inclusivity and shared love for the sport.

Mr. Jeff Mudembei

Branch Chairman, Mr. Jeff Mudembei, stated:

“Mashujaa Day reminds us that heroism is not confined to the battlefields. It lives in our communities, our pitches, and our youth programs. Every coach, player, referee, and supporter who uplifts the game is a shujaa. Together, we carry forward the spirit of service and unity that defines Kenyan football.”

Vice Chairman, Mr. Ramadhan Balala, added:

Mr. Rajab Wangalwa

Branch Secretary, Mr. Rajab Wangalwa, remarked:

Women Representative, Ms. Emily Khasiro, said:

Youth Representative, Mr. Joseph Kubati, observed:

Branch Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Simon Karanga, concluded:
