The FKF Kakamega Branch Chairman Jeff Mudembei had a packed and impactful Sunday as he presided over two major youth sports events across the county, reaffirming the Federation’s commitment to grassroots football development.
BUTERE GIRLS OPEN TOURNAMENT

His day began early in the morning at Butere Girls’ Sports Arena, where he officially graced the Butere Girls Open Tournament, an event bringing together boys’ and girls’ teams for competitive action across several disciplines, with football taking center stage.
Addressing players, coaches, and organizers, the Chairman emphasized FKF’s unwavering determination to identify, nurture, and develop young talent from the grassroots level. He encouraged participants to remain disciplined, focused, and passionate about their sporting journeys, noting that today’s school competitions form the foundation of tomorrow’s professional careers.

MUSINGU BOYS OPEN TOURNAMENT

After concluding his mid-day engagements in Butere, the FKF Kakamega Chairman proceeded to Musingu Boys High School, where the Musingu Opens Tournament 2026 was underway. The multi-sport event had drawn teams from various institutions, with football featuring prominently among the competitions.
At Musingu, he took time to interact with players and officials, delivering a strong motivational message to the teams. He assured the football fraternity of the Federation’s continued support in nurturing emerging talent and strengthening school and community football structures across Kakamega County.
Once again demonstrating FKF’s practical commitment to development, the Chairman donated 10 footballs to Musingu Boys, reinforcing the Federation’s hands-on approach to supporting grassroots programs.
The Chairman’s presence at both tournaments underscored FKF Kakamega Branch’s strategic focus on youth development, school competitions, and talent identification. His engagements served as a powerful reminder that sustainable football growth begins at the grassroots — in schools, academies, and community tournaments.
As FKF Kakamega continues to champion youth football, such initiatives remain vital in shaping the next generation of Kenyan stars.
