    FKF Kakamega Women Rep Among Key Trainees in National Women’s Football Strategy Workshop

    Football Kenya Federation (FKF), through its Women’s Football structures, took a significant step toward strengthening the future of the women’s game with a high-level Women’s Football Strategy Workshop held on April 14th, 2026.

    The crucial engagement brought together key stakeholders from across the country, uniting voices within the game to collaboratively shape a progressive and sustainable roadmap ahead of the official launch of the FKF Women’s Football Strategy.

    The session was spearheaded by FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) Women Representative Kerubo Momanyi, working closely with the federation’s technical department and various heads of departments. The workshop provided a platform for in-depth discussions, idea-sharing, and strategic alignment on the future direction of women’s football in Kenya.

    FIFA Women’s Football Expert Sue Ronan

    Adding global expertise to the process, FIFA Women’s Football Expert Sue Ronan guided the sessions, offering valuable insights, international best practices, and practical frameworks aimed at accelerating the growth and professionalization of the women’s game.

    Notably, FKF Kakamega Women Representative Emily Khasiro was among the selected trainees in the FIFA-led program. Her participation underscores Kakamega County’s growing influence and commitment to advancing women’s football at both grassroots and elite levels. Through this training, she joins a cohort of leaders equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to build a sustainable and competitive women’s football ecosystem in the country.

    Speaking after the workshop, stakeholders expressed optimism that the upcoming strategy will address key challenges while unlocking new opportunities for players, coaches, and administrators within the women’s game.
