On 20th January 2025, The NEC Western Caleb Amwayi had the honor of hosting the incredible team that worked tirelessly for over a year to make the FRESH START a reality, together with some newly elected NEC members, Western Region FKF officials, and close friends, for a Thanksgiving luncheon. This gathering was not just a celebration of their hard work and dedication, but also a moment to reflect on the achievements and challenges faced along the way. As the aroma of a delicious feast filled the air, stories were shared about the milestones reached and the hurdles overcome, reinforcing the strong bonds of camaraderie that had formed during the electioneering period. Attendees expressed gratitude for one another’s steadfast commitment and enthusiasm, while visionary discussions about the future of Western Kenya football sparked excitement and hope for continued success.



This journey wouldn’t have been possible without their unwavering dedication, belief, and hard work, which has been an inspiration to everyone involved. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone that stood with him throughout this transformative journey and for their steadfastness in ensuring that we begin this important work to revolutionize Kenyan football. Their support, enthusiasm, and commitment have been instrumental in overcoming the numerous challenges we faced, fostering a spirit of unity and purpose that will undoubtedly lead to lasting change in the sport we all love. As we move forward together, he is filled with optimism for the future, knowing that with such a dedicated group of individuals, we can achieve remarkable heights.



The occasion was graced by an esteemed gathering of dignitaries, including, but not limited to, the NEC member from Nyanza, who brought valuable insights from the region, and the NEC Member from Rift Valley, known for their commitment to fostering football development. The presence of the FKF Chairman from Bungoma added significant weight to the event, along with the FKF Kakamega Secretary General, who played a crucial role in orchestrating the proceedings. Additionally, the FKF Chairman from Busia, Kakamega, and Vihiga contributed their perspectives and support for local football initiatives. Honorable Dan Wanyama was also in attendance, representing the interests of the community, while referees and other stakeholders engaged in discussions that underscored the importance of collaboration in advancing the sport within the region.
